Ramadan 2015: Fasting Basics

Stand Up 4 Islam

Bismillah-hir Rahman-nir Raheem (in the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Fasting during Ramadan is one of the key obligations upon every male and female Muslim who has come of age. Fasting carries great benefits for your health, your mental state, removing attachments to the duniya, preparing for the hereafter, being a better person, improving your character, being an expiation for your sins… the list goes on.

STEP 1: MAKE INTENTION

Before the start of each fast, you must make intention to fast. This doesn’t need to be said out loud but should be firm in your mind. This can be done at any time during the night, even if it is just a moment before Fajr.

“There is no fast for the person who did not intend to fast from the night before.” [Abu Dawud]

STEP 2: TAKE SUHOOR

The Prophet (pbuh) said, “Have suhoor, for in suhoor there is baraqah.” [Bukhari]

STEP 3: FAST DURING THE SPECIFIED TIMES

Ramadan 2015: A dua for Ramadan

Stand Up 4 Islam

RAMADAN 2015 v1 med

Bismillah-hir Rahman-nir Raheem (in the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Alhamdulillah, we In Sha Allah will be graced with another Ramadan; another chance for Blessings; another chance to turn away from sin and foolhardiness.

I make dua that Allah Forgives us and Has Mercy on us. (and I am in need of His Mercy)

I make dua that Allah Forgives me for my arrogance.

I make dua that Allah Has Mercy on me because He Knows my situation better than anyone.

I make dua that Allah Provides for me because He Has Done all my life.

I make dua that Allah Pardons me for I have committed wrong.

I make dua that Allah Puts me in good company because I am weak around weak people.

I make dua that Allah Places me amongst the sincere Muslims, on the Haqq and not amongst the misguided ones.

I make dua that Allah Looks after my family and Brings them into the deen…

Naummidi kufr hai (To be despair is a sin)

lonilessness

Koi ummid koi sahara nazar nahi ata
Duniya k is khel me koi humsaya nazar nahi ata
Bus naummidi ka ek andhera sa chhaya hai
Aur is tanhai me koi sahara nazar nahi ata

Par jab bhi ye alfaz gunjte hain kano me mere
Dil jor se chikh chikh chillata hai
Naummidi kufr hai
aur iska koi pehlu Quran me nazar nati ata
Laut chal bus ek baar khuda ki janib
Ki uske dar pe naummidi ka andhera nazar nahi ata

Tu khud hi bhul baitha hai parwardegar ko apne
Isliye achhai ka daman tujhe nazar nahi ata
Mud kar dekh fir se duniya ko ek baar
Har ek shakhs nakabposh nazar nahi ata
Laut chal bus ek baar khuda ki janib
Ki uske dar pe naummidi ka kohra nazar nahi ata

Stand Up 4 Islam

Ramadan_kareem_by_WATER_ARTS[1]

Bismillah-hir Rahman-nir Raheem (in the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful)

Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. It is during this month that the Shayateen are locked away in chains, that the first verses of the Qur’an were revealed and Laylat-ul-Qadr is to be found:

‘The month of Ramadan, in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for mankind and clear proofs for the guidance and the  criterion (between what is right and wrong)’ Surat Al-Baqarah v185

‘Verily! We have sent it (the Qur’an) down in Laylat-ul-Qadr (the Night of Decree). And what will make you know what the Night of Decree is? The Night of Decree is better than one thousand months..’ Surat Al-Qadr, v1-3

‘When the month of Ramadan arrives, the doors of Heaven are opened, the doors of Hell are closed and the devils put under chains.’ [Bukhari and Muslim]

The Free Style Writing Challenge!

my-life-dedicated-to-allah-praying-muslimahI have been nominated for a very interesting writing challenge “The Free Style Writing” by a wonderful blogger the indian reverted muslimah . I just love her blog. It’s beautiful and inspiring.

The concept of free style writing revolves around the central idea of putting down words that may or may not relate to a particular topic and within a certain time period regardless of spelling or perhaps also grammar. .

So here goes the RULES of this challenge:

1) Open an MS Word document

2) Set a stop watch or your mobile to 5 minutes or 10 minutes whichever challenge you think you can beat.

3) You topic is at the foot of this post. But do not scroll down to see it until you are ready with the timer

4) Fill the word doc with as much words as you want. Once you began writing do not stop even to turn. Do not cheat by going back and correcting spellings and grammar with spell check in MS WORD.

5) You may or may not pay attention to punctuation and capitals. However if you do, it would be best.

6) At the end of your post write down ‘No. Of words =_____’ so that we would have an idea of how much you can write within the time frame.

7) Do not forget to copy paste the entire passage on your blog post with a new Topic for your nominees and copy paste these rules with your nominations (at least 5 bloggers).

Here is My topic-To be a practising Muslimah”

Time- 5 mins

Oh the topic is sounds hard. Ya I know I’m a born muslim but is it enough to be a born muslim . Nope. It does not come up with a treat. There is so much to learn. I starve everyday. The more I do the more I want to learn. My prayers my fasting , my tasbih everything sounds less to me. Anyways atleast I’m trying. So on daily basis I try to change myself and learn from different books, blogs etc. Few are some of the things which you can do :

  1. Try to learn just don’t stop at a point. Love islam because love inspires you to do more and more
  2. Wahtever you learn just tell to your siblings, hubby, mother father etc. I know making people understand about one thing is tough. But tell them with love.
  3. Respect your clothes. I love my hijab it makes me special.
  4. Try to include Sunnah in your daily life. Some Sunnah we do regularly but we don’t know that thsese are Sunnah so once youy come to know make niyat before duing any Sunnah. It will increase your love towards Allah and prophet
    (saaw)
  5. Try to convey good things to your child. Children are a big responsibility as they only make our society.

I know some of the things I too have to take up but as I mentioned I’m craving too learn .So if you have any more suggestion which I include as practice Muslim. Do let me know and offcpurse to others.

Total words- 260. (Hehhee. But I could see there are so many mistakes. Try to manage my readers).

Here are my nominees:

Allergic to ‘E’ Challenge

Hurray I was nominated for the Allergic to ‘E’ Challenge by my lovely sister, an awesome blogger The Indian Reverted Muslimah. Her writing skill is amazing, too inspiring . I’m already tensed. Hehee. But gonna try it. Thanks a ton for this dear. First, here are the rules for this challenge:

1) Write a whole paragraph ( a paragraph sounds easy right?) without any word containing the letter “e” (still easy for ya?)

2) By reading this you are already signed up.

3) Challenge at least five bloggers to do the challenge. They must do it within 24 hours or it is considered as failure.

4) If you fail or pass, suffer in the Page of Lame.

5) If you win, wallow in the Page of Fame.

6) You can check your standings on my menu Your Standings.

So here comes my para:

Hurray!!! Ya I want to shout a loud. You want to know why? As I’m sad today. It’s sounds silly I know. But its good, try it out on any day as for this you don’t pay. It’s all your luxury. HaHaa. I saw this in a Bollywood film long back. So thought to try. But can’t do it in public place. So what I do is I shut my lids, my thoughts, my brain and in my soul I shout a loud or say hurray as if I won victory or just lost it. This solution fits my body . May it bring happy happy clouds around you too. It’s a random thought or you can say a “fully filmi thought”.  I’m thankful to Allah for giving this opportunity of sharing a solution with you all. I finish this para with a dua that “May Allah fill our soul with fighting ninja spirit”.

Har lamha muskaan jaruri hai

Dil ka sukun aur pyaar jaruri hai

Sabr rakh thoda sa bus tu jara

Allah par har baar aitbaar jaruri hai…

Yeppy I finished it and really today I understood the importance of every letter. Thanks to Allah for providing us with this tool. Ok my nominees are:
